the first omen is a creative movie that’s super enjoyable. the first omen has great plot twists. it also has super well written characters and a great performance from Nell tiger free, Margaret is such a well written character and super complex. this is a movie that does a great job at having references to the omen but still feeling like its own movie. it serves as a great sequel and a great movie. it is the only sequel of the omen that lives up to the original. every character has a personality, every character has to do with the story, I love the story decisions. i love how now all horror movies arent that dark but this movie is very dark. there are some complaints I have though, I didn’t really like the ending, but I understand they gotta have a sequel so I understand why they did that. this movie has some super disturbing imagery that made me look away. this movie also looks super expensive for a horror movie, most horror movies are extremely cheap but this movie feels really expensive for a 30 million dollar movie, this movie also has some really nice kills even if it steals three of them from the other omen movies. this is a top three horror prequels and is a super amazing movie that is a must watch that you should go see in theatres right now. this is a super smart movie that you can tell had a lot of thought put into it. its not like you expect its not cliche and super creative. the film currently has an 81 percent on rotten tomatoes which it has definitely earned, but a 70 percent on rotten tomatoes audience score which is awful audiences are giving the new godzilla a 91 but giving this a 70.

spoiler review/plot breakdown
Father Brennan presses Father Harris about an occult conspiracy; the shaken Harris gives Brennan a photograph of a baby with the name "Scianna" inscribed. Harris is killed when a falling pipe splits his head open. i thought this is a great opening, and i thought the kill was good and him smiling after the kill was creepy, i don’t like how it steals this kill from the omen but it looks cooler and looks less fake then the one in the omen, i liked seeing the hole in his head since it looked really cool
In Rome, 1971, amid left-wing protests, American novitiate Margaret Daino arrives at the Vizzardeli Orphanage. this is our introduction to Margaret, margaret is a great character that feels human. She meets with Cardinal Lawrence, Father Gabriel, and Abess Sister Silvia, her roommate and fellow novitiate Luz, and nun Anjelica. we also learn margaret has visions, which is a great way of not trusting whats real and what isn’t, and has to do with a plot twist later so it isn’t useless. Luz invites Margaret to a disco, where she dances with a man named Paolo before blacking out; she awakens the next day with no memory of what happened. i like how this part has to do with the story since most horror movies would just have useless stuff happen to pad the run time but this scene has to do with a great plot twist later and isn’t just useless.
She bonds with the mistreated orphan Carlita, who is plagued by bad visions. Father Brennan warns her about Carlita, saying "evil things" will happen around her. Margaret spots Carlita showing Anjelica a drawing of a pregnant woman being restrained, some people will say creepy kids drawling creepy images is a horror cliche but its such a minor part of this movie so it isn’t really a cliche in this movie. moments later Anjelica self-immolates and hangs herself. i like how they upgraded the kill by making her light herself on fire, but i don’t like how the advertising made this look like a big plotpoint but this is just a small plotpiont
Brennan explains that radicals within the church, desperate to regain power against the rise of secularism, seek to bring about the Antichrist to create fear and drive people back to the church, with Carlita intended to be his mother. During a field trip, a riot breaks out and Margaret experiences demonic hallucinations. margaret has a disturbing vision of a woman giving birth and a hand coming out of her private, which is super awful to watch and apparently almost gave this movie an NC 17. Sister Silvia postpones Margaret's vows and orders her to distance herself from Carlita. She spots Paolo; horrified, he tells her to "look for the mark" before an oncoming truck fatally impales him. this is an amazing kill and it must have traumatized margaret how she ripped him in half and it looks deliciously gory definitely golden chainsaw.
Margaret sneaks into Sister Silvia's office. She uncovers a hidden, underground chamber and a series of subject files, all labeled "Scianna". Each file contains a photo of a disfigured baby with a birthmark in the shape of three sixes, with Carlita as seemingly the only survivor. She is intercepted and spots the mark on Carlita's palate before being imprisoned. this is when a great jumpscare happens you probably saw this scene in all of the advertising, where she says its not real its not real over and over again, and a demon says whats not real and she says who said that, then she sees a demon get up and slowly walks up to Margaret in a creepy way making you get more and more scared the closer she gets to Margaret, then she gets jumpscared, and I like this jumpscare since most horror movies would have the demon be right in front of her and jumpscare her immediately but this movie is smart and does it in a scary way.
Father Gabriel frees Margaret; as they examine the files, they discover that another baby had survived. Margaret locates the mark on her own scalp and suddenly remembers that she was forcefully impregnated in a satanic ritual the night she blacked out at the disco. The Devil will need to mate with his own spawn in order to conceive the Antichrist, and Margaret had been brought to Rome as Carlita is too young. this is a great plot twist and it makes this movie a lot better. The group drives off to have the pregnancy aborted, but another car crashes into theirs on the way and Margaret's womb suddenly fills. this is when an amazing one take starts of her getting possessed and a great performance in this scene from nell tiger free
She awakens strapped to a hospital bed and is greeted by Cardinal Lawrence, the head of the conspiracy. She gives birth to two children, a girl and a boy; the latter is hailed as the Antichrist. She stabs Lawrence but cannot bring herself to kill her son. Luz stabs Margaret as the conspirators flee with the boy and set the chamber ablaze to cover their tracks. Carlita saves Margaret and her daughter and Margaret sees her assaulter, a demonic jackal in the flames. The baby boy is given to American diplomat Robert Thorn to secretly replace the child his wife Katherine has supposedly miscarried. i don’t like how they survived the fire since this is a dark movie and a dark ending would have made ist scarier
Years later, Margaret lives secluded in the mountains with Carlita and her daughter. Brennan appears and warns that the conspirators will be hunting her, and that her son has been named Damien. i like how the end of this movie is the beginning of the omen. where did she get that house in the mountains though.
