future horror films trailer reactions and breakdowns

Hello today i will be talking about future films coming out in the horror genre and reacting to every shot in the trailer and box office predictions and predicting whether i like it and at the end of the year i will see if i am correct.

Smile 2:

Now the first one i will be talking about is smile 2 now the trailer starts off with a lady at her concert now i think that this will be the opening to the film since films usually like to start with a strong and punchy opening that hooks you from the beginning and concerts have been known for hooking people too them. This could also be in the middle of the film where she is performing her concert just to notice everybody is staring at her with a creepy smile. Then we see people taking photos of her which she has a cool outfit in this shot and i predict that this film will have a bunch of cool outfits and i predict she will look at the photographer and see that he is smiling at her. Then there is a shot of her wiping lipstick off of her face and i think this will be mirroring the scene from the first one where rose looks at the mirror and wipes her face and does a smile at the mirror. Then we get the person who kills himself which this scene in the trailer is short but unfortunately in the movie they will probably drag it on forever. Then there is an upside down shot mirroring the ones from the first one. Then there is her staring at a smiling persono who is lying down next to her for some reason i think that this will be around the beginning of the movie when she is just beginning to realize that there are smiling people everywhere. Then there is a shot of her yelling in a public event saying “stop smiling at me” and this movie could focus on cancel culture like dream scenario where she goes crazy at this public event and gets cancelled and then that makes her even more sad making the entity stronger. Then there is a shot of her hitting herself in the face which i predict she may kill hersefl before the entity does. Then there is a crazy shot of a bunch of people chasing her through a room with mirror walls this is a cool shot and i hope it leads to a cool scene in the movie. Then there is a shot of kyle gallners character getting hit by a car which i predict will be the opening to the film and unfortunately they revealed that in the advertising. Then there is a shot of her signing a smiling girls shirt and i predict that this is the first time she will encounter a possessed smiling person

This movie doesnt look great but it does take a interesting and unique turn that not many people expected that i am interested to see, i have learned not to be annoyed by sequels since they are sometimes good and sometimes better than the original since we get a lot of terrible horror movies like annebelle and ouija and they get great sequels. And smile came out in the year of horror films and was the highest grossing horror film of the year so i am curious to see how smile to. It is predictable taht this film was made because of the other ones box office. This does have parker fin returning to direct and write and he did a awesome job with the first film and he does a great job at building unique suspense and its coming out in october which is a great month for horror movies and i wouldnt be surprised if it is the highest grossing film this year, so far i think that the highest grossing film is a quiet place part 2 which is might struggle to beat since that film has been extremely successful. I expect 200-230 million. I expect this to be a descent movie. I expect the budget to be 25-30 million

Cuckoo:

I am very excited for Cuckoo it looks very interesting and currently has an 81 percent on rotten tomatoes and the trailer looks super interesting this is a big year for neon horror films. I have seen the trailer a bunch of times and the trailer has great music and does a great job at making you interested. the reviews make me nervous since they say that the film takes itself too seriously and its story isn't that strong.

The next film is cuckoo it begins with a video tape playing of a girl complaining and i think this will be the end of the movie where the main character is dead and someone else is playing a tape of the last things she siad,  then the next shot is her looking down at something but its trying to make you think she is looking at the tape but i think that that is bs cuz why would she listen to her own voice complaining. But she has a band aid looking thing on her head showing that she has an injury on her head and since she doesnt have that in the shots from what seems like the start of the movie i predict this will happen around the end of the movie. Then it starts with a girl moving to a new house. Then she works for dan stevens character at the resort which i predict will happen and she will pass out of something and while she is passed out he will put a device in her brain or something and that it why he is doing crazy scientist stuff to her. Then someone throws up and someone tells her “you dont belong here” which are strange things to say which help build a mystery and it makes me more interested in the trailer. Then she gets a mysterious call for someone to pick her up but it doesnt seem like that happens since she is next seen riding her bike. Then someone chases her while she is on her bike which i predict will happen around late beginning of the film where mysterious stuff stops happening and crazy stuff starts happening. Then it reveals dan stevens character is crazy which i wish that they had hid in the advertising like they hid that nicholas cages face in longlegs advertising. Then she is seen with a robotic arm which i predict is around late middle and i am curious to see what ripped her arm off. I also think that there is a specific reason why he chose her family for this experiment. Then there is a shot of a monster humaniod creature going into a girls bedroom which i predict is what dan stevens character is creating and she will be the first victim but you probably already knew this since it is pretty obvious. Then dan stephens picks a new hairstyle for his next monster probably. Then she is hiding from the monster which i predict all the shots in the science lab taek place in the 3rd act at the end of the film. Then he says that she could be a great use in his quest for preservation but that can have different interpretatoins depending on the context and i had to do research to write this part since i didnt even know what preservation meant. It shows playing a important role to maintain or conserve or protect something valuable here is a few ways the phrase could be understood: environmental conservation, cultural preservation, knowledge and education, personal legacy, artistic or intellectual contributions. Then there is a shot of the monster smiling while reaching out its hand looking like it will help somebody which i predict that in the 3rd act the monster will team up with the main character and stop dan stevens character. I expect it to make 7-12 million in opening weekend and 18-22 million overall. I expect this to be a descent movie. I expect a budget of 6-12 million

heretic:

Next is heretic which it sucks sharing a name with the exorcist 2 heretic but it begins with two girls going into a evil mans house and he seems charming but he is actual hiding something sinister  and the girls try to escape but they cant this trailer is one of the few where all the shots dont seem random taken from random shots of the movie these seem in order of how the movie goes so i cant really predict when what is. And this trailer doesnt give much. But it seems liek he is studying them and he does the thing from it 2 and it with the doors and it also shares the same song as the saw x trailer. Overall i am happy to have hugh grant in a horror movie especially as the villain and sophie thatcher iss returning again to the horror genre after maxxxine and the boogeyman, this kinda looks stupid but hopefully its good a24 horror movies never disappoint so it will probably be good but one area a24 horror movies arent always good at is having good box offices and i dont hink that this will do very well. I expect it to make 5-10 million in opening weekend and 10-20 million overall. I expect this to be a good movie. I expect a budget of 6-8 million.

Front room:

Next we have the front room which i swear to god this is one of the stupidest trailers i have seen it is about an evil grandma and we have seen plenty of evil old people but she doesnt look creepy looking or scary and just seems like a stupid villain. The trailer shows her being racist and trying to pretend like the girl is hurting the grandma and i dont even understand how this is a horror movie i only trust it is a horror movie since google says it is. And the trailer reveals her shoving a pillow onto someones face most likely the grandmother which why show the grandma dying in the trailer especailly in such a dumb way hopefullty the grandma is a cool manipulative villain like esther and she doesnt die in a lame way and she dies in a cool way like esther. Overall it looks bad i expect it to make 5-10 million in opening weekend and make 15-20 million overall. I expect this to be a bad movie. I expect a budget of 5-8 million

Speak no evil:

Ok first i am going to go off topic a bit to point out something so annoying that i see all the time is trailer reactions on youtube are so effing lazy and especially how lazy people are reacting to this trailer and posting it on youtube even though they havent even seen the first film like actually do your homework before making your lazy videos YouTubers if your going to make trailer reactions to a movie with other installments watch the other installments before making the video since it just makes you seem lazy, ok now i got that off my chest. Now i have actually seen the original speak no evil but i think that there is a lot of room for improvement like how the family is so stupid in that movie or the ending being anticlimactic. At first when i saw the trailer i thought that it looked awful and hated watching it looked like rec and quarantine where the original rules and the american remake sucks. But the most popular horror movie youtuber dead meat got the opportunity to see it early and said it was good which gives me hope but he is usually very easy on movies but who knows it could eb a masterpiece.

Lets get on to the trailer, it will be easy to predict how the plot goes since we know the entire plot because we have seen the first film, they changed the languages they speak to both be english so that means they will change or remove some scenes from the original where the families spoke in different languages to hide what they were saying to each other. The trailer opens with the familys meeting and having fun and they copy the doctor thing from the original. Then they come to there house and they copy that scene from the original where the kids are dancing and the father gets mad. Then they copy the scene where the father finds the boy with his tongue cut off. Then they show the mother discovering something. There is a quick shot of an explosion which looks awesome and hopefully this is way higher budget than the original. Then they do a lame shot where a boy pretends to cut his own toungue off with his fingered showing the others that his tongue was cut out. I expect this to be a good movie since i trust dead meats opinion. I expect it to make between 20-25 on opening weekend and 70-80 million overall since blumhouse movies usually do well especially if they are good. This movie is also 20 minutes longer than the original which makes me interested in what they have that would make it that much longer. I expect a budget of 12-15 million.

Alien romulus:

Next is alien romulus which i expect it to be good and is 2 hours which is long but isnt even the longest in the franchise i think it might be one of the shortest ones. Ok from the trailer it looks super high budget but that shouldnt be a surprise because of all of the alien films are super high budget and it follows a group of people who are going to steal highly regulated equipment so they can get out and it should take 30 minutes. Then it seems like your basic creature movie where creatures come on the ship and kill each one of them at a time. We get a facehugger attacking this guy btw i dont know how water can get int he spaceship or where all the facehuggers came from but i hope the movie explains it. Then we get a facehuggre ripping through a womans stomach which hopefully is good but probably not the best kill of the movie. Then we get the main charaacter shooting her gun like a badass similer to ellen riply. Then we get a cool ass shot of her floating in a room full of acid because then she will ahve to try and dodge the acid which could make a cool scene. Then we get a shot of a ship crashing which will prboably happen near the end of the film. And we get someone crawling through the vents which will probably end up being a kill. Then we get a shot of a possessed man which i wonder how possession will play a role in the story like can the aliens now possess people. Then we get a cool explosion hopefully there are a ton in this movie since explosions always make things cooler.

This could also be the highest grossing horror movie of the year since alien films are known for doing well. Usually 2 hour horror movies are good and its the 90 minute ones that suck. I predict $38 million- 50 million opening and 200-250 million overall. I predict this to be the best horror movie of the year maybe, we havent had a universally loved alien movie since aliens so hopefully this can change that. I predict a budget of 80-98 million.

Never let go:

I expect never let go to be an amazing movie, its supposed to be like a quiet place where its low budget apocolypse movie and it ends up being smart and great. The trailer looks awesome this is my second most anticipated of the yera behind nosferatu. Sure the concept might be kinda weird but i think it can be executed well.

The trailer begins with showing us the rules and showing it will most likely be from the kids perspective which with the manipulation the spirits do i think it is a smart decision to have it be from the kids perspective because kids are easier to manipulate. Then her saying the evil out there is clever which i hope it shows the evil being clever a bunch. Then it shows a kids rope broking and them doubting the mother and a kid gets pulled into a well or nearly pulled in. thne there is a shot of one of the kids with a snapped neck they made this shot very quick and i dont think this movie has the guts to kill a child so it is probably the spirt doing ghost stuff since it has made it seem like the ghosts can do stuff like that to manipulate them. Then a human with a bunch of hands climbs up a tree. Overall i predict it to make 20-30 million on opening weekend and i know that that may be high but i have hope and i predict 50-60 million overall and i predict its budget to be 6-10 million

Strange darling:

Strange darling is a movie that seems fine i dont really have much expectations for it it has kyle gallner who is a talented actor and it has a 100 percent on rotten tomatoes but it seems a bit stupid and basic.

The trailer starts with what i assume happens at the start of the movie where a couple kisses and then she asks him if he is a cereal killer and he is so she escapes and hides but he finds her and maybe kidnaps her. I predict this to have a budget of 6-10 million and a box office of 30-40 million since teh reviews are so positive and people usually see well reviewed movies.

Nosferatu:

Next is my most anticipated movie of the yera which i am so effing excited for nosferatu. It is by a super talented director robert eggers who brought us the great the lighthouse and the witch and the northman which i havent seen since that isn a horror movie but i heard that it is good. It is weird how when it comes to normal horror movies universal gives them barely any money and watches them succeed but then when it comes to vampire movies universal throws money at them and watches them fail. It has a very talented cast with huge horror actor nicolas hoult who was in the menu who did great in that and also had a fun performance in warm bodies and also did good in renfield and william dafoe who people like. Since its robert eggers you know everything is going to be as accurate to the time as possible and he will make sure that like the clothes are made the same way they would have beenn made in 1800s or whenever this takes place.

The trailer begins with what will probably be the opening where a woman is summoning nosferatu for some reason and he attacks her or maybe it is her dream because she talks about having dreams afterwords. Also nosferatus castle looks badass. But i also love how how they keep repeating he is coming and then it cuts to nicolas hoult screaming shirtless. Then a rom with nosferatu in it burning down which will probably be the end of the movie. Then a woman ripping her shirt. Then kids screaming. Than the woman from the opening with her face all bloodied. I expect a budget of 60-75 million and a box office of 100-120 million and i expect very positive reviews because i heard in early screenings people loved it.
